With our betting tips we are looking at the head coaches who have been with their team at least three full seasons. We do not count any results if they were hired in season as an interim.

In 20 seasons as the head coach of the New England Patriots Bill Belichick has a win percentage of 74.3% the best for any of the experienced coach in this league. Only Andy Reid with the Kansas City Chiefs comes close for a long term coach who has compiled a 67.2% win percentage in his seven seasons with Kansas City.

Strong against the spread angles for Andy Reid in Kansas City was 64.9% on the road and 65.6% as a road favorite. Mike Tomlin became the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2007. His strongest coaching angle is as a home underdog where his teams cover 78.6% of the time. Saints head coach Sean Payton was hired in 2006. His best coaching angle is also as a home underdog with a 69.2% cover rate. Pete Carroll came to the Seahawks for the 2010 campaign. His Seattle team’s have been money bouncing back from a loss covering 64.8% of the time. Bill O’Brien from the Houston Texans began his tenure in 2014, Texans under O’Brien covers 71.4% as a road favorite. Mike Zimmer started with the Minnesota Vikings for the 2014 season and has a very good cover rate for many angles. His teams covered 75.7% after a loss, 72.7% as a home underdog and outside the division at 68.8%. Atlanta coach Dan Quinn hired in 2015. His teams good as a home dog covering 71.4%. Eagles coach Doug Pederson was hired in 2016 and his teams covered 83.3% in the playoffs. Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott was hired in 2017. His teams covered 75% as a road favorite. Anthony Lynn came to the LA Chargers in 2017 as their head coach. LA performed well as a road underdog with a cover rate of 69.2%. Sean McVay was hired by LA Rams in 2017. His teams solid 83.3% cover rate as a road dog. Kyle Shanahan was hired as head coach by San Francisco for 2017 campaign. 49ers good in the role of road underdog covering 66.7%.

On the negative side Jon Harbaugh who was hired as the Ravens head coach in 2008 covers only 42.9% as a home underdog. Bill O’Brien Texans teams cover only 43.3% of the time as a dog. Vikings under Zimmer covers only 28.6% off the bye. The Falcons under Quinn covering only 38.9% after a defeat. Very poor 23.8% against the AFC. Bills under McDermott just 36.4% at home getting points. Doug Marrone was hired by Jacksonville as the head coach for the 2017 campaign. Jaguars covered only 16.7% against the NFC. Chargers under Lynn has covered only 29.4% as a home favorite. San Francisco under Shanahan covers only 36.8% as a favorite.
