The Texas opened up their preseason with a 26-13 road win last Saturday night against the Carolina Panthers as a +3 point underdog. The game went over 35 ½ points.
Matt Schaub in his limited time under center threw for 52 yards and an interception on 3 of 6 pass completions. T.J. Yates in relief of Schaub hit on 8 of 12 passes for 89 yards.
Ben Tate led Houston with 38 yards rushing on seven carries. Jonathan Grimes rushed it nine times for 37 yards and a touchdown. Lester Jean led Houston with two receptions for 50 yards. The Houston defense allowed Carolina an anemic 137 yards of offense with 76 yards through the air. The Texans registered eight quarterback sacks.
