The Nevada Wolfpack will begin their 2012 college football campaign as they travel to face the California Golden Bears on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Bears return six starters on offense and five to the defense. In 2011 the team finished at 7-6 and earned a bowl berth into the Holiday Bowl. The club was defeated by Texas in the Holiday Bowl 21-10 as a +3 point underdog.
Senior quarterback Zach Maynard is back under center for the Golden Bears. The weak throwing signal caller completed 57% of his throws for2990 yards with 17 touchdowns and 12 picks.
The Golden Bears top three running backs return from 2011. Cal returns just one of their top four pass receivers from a season ago but their tip guy Keenan Allen is back in 2012 year.
