Houston finished off the regular season with a record of 10-6 and earned a playoff spot for the first time in the history of the franchise. The Texans were the champs of the AFC South. They beat the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Wildcard playoffs but lost the following week at the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Divisional round.
The team saw tremendous improvement on the defensive end as they allowed 17 points per game ranking fourth in the league. The Texans were second in the NFL in total defense by allowing 285 yards per game.
