Quarterback Taylor McHargue completed 21 of 36 passes for 314 yards with three touchdowns. McHargue led the team in rushing with 17 carries for 153 yards and a touchdown. Turner Peterson on 16 carries ran for 76 yards and a touchdown. Sam McGuffie caught four passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns.
Rice Owls allowed the Thundering Herd 593 yards of offense with 334 yards coming from their ground attack for over 6 ½ yards a carry.
