The Giants failed to make the playoffs so veteran head coach Tom Coughlin resigned under pressure. Former offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo takes over. Eli Manning returns under center for New York as he comes off a year where he completed 62% of his throws for 4432 yards with 35 touchdowns and 14 picks. His running backs are Rashad Jennings, Shane Vereen and Andre Williams. Paul Perkins is a rookie to keep an eye on. Manning has his main man back in Odell Beckham Jr. and they hope that Victor Cruz can come back healthy. At issue with New York was the play of their defense. They sat 32nd and last in the NFL by allowing 420 yards per game. The Giants were terrible in pass defense by allowing 299 yards per game and allowed 47% conversions on third down.
Dallas suffered a season ending injury to Tony Romo and fell to last place in the NFC East at seasons end. Romo broke his back in the preseason so fourth round draft pick rookie Dak Prescott will start at quarterback. Prescott looked good in preseason working with the first string. The signal caller had a good career at Mississippi St and had the Bulldogs for two weeks sitting at number one in the nation. They drafted running back Ezekiel Elliot in the first round out of Ohio St. Alfred Morris and Darren McFadden had great depth at the position. Prescott has great weapons in the passing game in Dez Bryant, Cole Beasley, Terrance Williams along with tight end Jason Witten. Dallas sat 17th in the league in the defensive side of the ball in 2015 as they allowed 348 yards per game.
