The Michigan Wolverines from the Big Ten conference will face the Virginia Tech Hokies from the ACC conference in the Sugar Bowl in an NCAA college football game on January 3rd.

Kick off time for the Sugar Bowl from New Orleans Louisiana is set for 8:30PM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by ESPN.

Virginia Tech will play in the Sugar Bowl with a record of 11-2 in the 2011 season. The club is 6-1 away from home.

The Hokies average 28 points and 415 yards per game with 188 yards rushing for 4.5 yards a carry.

On defense Virginia Tech allows 17 points and 313 yards per game. Teams rush for 107 yards against them for 3.3 yards per rush against average.

The Hokies are 6-2 versus bowl clubs in 2011.

They own victories against Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Marshall and Arkansas St. Their losses came against Clemson twice.

D.J. Coles led Virginia Tech with seven receptions for 116 yards and a touchdown catch.

Jarrett Boykin caught three passes for 58 yards.

Marcus Davis grabbed four balls for 50 yards.
