Despite the loss with the Jaguars losing to the Redskins last week it qualified the Jets as a wildcard entrant in the AFC playoffs.
The team is in the sixth seed and has a shot for the fifth seed with a Steelers loss with a Ravens victory and if the Jets defeat the Bills.
It is very possible that the New York Jets may rest starters in this game as they will unlikely risk injuries and may take the rest option over the slim possibility of making a fifth seed.
Historically teams don’t go all out for a seed unless it gives them significant home field advantage and in this case there is not enough benefit to play the starters.
