The BYU Cougars will travel in their Mountain West conference opener with a game against the Air Force Falcons on Saturday afternoon.
The game will kick off from Air Force at 4PM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by Versus.
The point spread opened up with BYU a 2 ½ point favorite with the over under lined at 48.

Behind a senior quarterback in Max Hall it was BYU with 377 yards passing in victory. In the past the Falcons had a tough time defending BYU’s outstanding passing game behind Max Hall and his predecessor John Beck.
The post Max Hall era began last week for BYU and they earned the 23-17 home victory against PAC 10 conference Washington Huskies behind a senior and NFL prospect under center in Jake Locker.
BYU rotated quarterbacks last week and will do so this week in freshman Jake Heaps and transfer junior Riley Nelson.
Heaps hit on 13 of 23 for 131 yards with 0 touchdowns and picks. The former Utah St product Riley Nelson hit on 11 of 17 passes for 131 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also posted 8 rushes for 45 yards.
With Harvey Unga kicked off the team for his senior season they team gave 13 carries to junior JJ Di Luigi who gained 69 yards against the Huskies. Di Luigi also led the Cougars with 4 catches for 83 yards and a touchdown. Tight end Richard Wilson contributed with 3 catches for 45 yards last week.
BYU limited Jake Locker last week to only 20 of 37 passing and 266 yards with only 1 touchdown pass. They held the Huskies to only 5 of 15 on third down. BYU dominated time of possession with nearly 9 more minutes of possession over the Huskies.
Air Force head coach Troy Calhoun is in his fourth year with the club after following a legend in Fisher DeBerry. The team finished 2009 with an 8-5 record and defeated the high powered Houston Cougars 47-20 as a 4 ½ point underdog in their bowl game.
Calhoun will have only 5 starters back on offense and 5 to his defense.
Junior starting quarterback Tim Jefferson is back after hitting on 57% of his passes for 848 yards with 5 touchdowns and 2 picks in the Falcons run oriented offense.
The Falcons have their top two rushers back this season in senior Jared Tew and junior Asher Clark.
Air Force opened their season last week by posting the 65-21 victory against FCS school Northwestern St.
Tim Jefferson completed 7 of 12 passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns and scampered for 59 yards and two rushing touchdowns on 8 carries.
The tandem of Tew and Clark combined for 25 carries for 149 yards and 1 touchdown last week.
Senior wide out Ken Fogler led the Air Force Falcons last week with 2 catches for 67 yards with a catch for 37 yards and one for 30.
Defensively the Falcons allowed 16 points and 288 yards last season.
Northwestern St was able to amass 311 yards on Air Force and produced 249 yards through the air. The Falcons were solid in rush defense limiting the FCS school to just 1.9 yards per rush average on 32 carries.
