The Georgia Bulldogs will travel in their SEC conference game opener against the South Carolina Gamecocks on Saturday afternoon.

Kick off time from South Carolina is set for 12PM Eastern Time and you can watch it on ESPN2.

The point spread opened up in this game with the home team South Carolina opening up as 2 ½ point favorite.

The early money from the college football betting public has come on the side of the favorite as the South Carolina Gamecocks are now favored by 3 points.

Money line bettors on the side of the favored South Carolina Gamecocks will lay -140 odds with the road underdog Georgia Bulldogs returning +120 to pull off the upset victory without the need for taking the points.

The Georgia Bulldogs return 10 starters to their offense and 5 to their defense for head coach Mark Richt. The team finished 2009 with an 8-5 record and blew out Texas Tech 44-20 as a 6 ½ point underdog in their bowl game.

The Bulldogs opened up their season with the 55-7 blowout victory against Louisiana Lafayette as a 29 ½ point home favorite.

On the ground the two headed monster of Carlton Thomas and Caleb King combined for 23 carries and 108 yards last week for a 4.7 yards per carry average. King had a 5.2 yards a carry average and 7 touchdowns last season.

Senior wide out Kris Durham led the team last week with 5 receptions for 83 yards and a touchdowns.

Georgia had a solid game defensively limiting Louisiana Lafayette to just 128 total yards and a miserable 0.5 yards per rush attempt. The Rajun Cajuns could only covert on 3 of 16 on third down as their quarterbacks could only complete 8 of 24 last week.

It was a nice opening of the season for Steve Spurrier’s South Carolina Gamecocks. The team pounded Southern Mississippi 44-13 in week 1 as a 13 ½ point favorite.

Junior starting quarterback Stephen Garcia hit on 16 of 23 passes for 193 yards with 0 touchdowns and 0 picks. Garcia on the ground had 38 yards rushing on 5 attempts and produced two touchdowns.

Freshman running back Marcus Lattimore made his much anticipated debut with 54 yards on 14 carries for a 3.9 yards a carry average and 2 touchdowns. Lattimore was the most highly touted running back coming into college football this season.

Freshman wide receiver Ace Sanders had a magnificent debut with 2 catches for 47 yards and also had a single rush for 53 yards.

The Gamecocks allowed 404 total yards to the Golden Eagles last week. South Carolina did defend the run very well allowing just 2.5 yards per rush. South Carolina will need to be better on third down as they allowed Southern Mississippi to convert 10 of 19.
