The Purdue Boilermakers will travel to face in state rivals the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in a week 1 college football game on Saturday afternoon.
They kick off from Notre Dame at 3:30PM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by NBC.

The Boilermakers were a good offensive team in 2009 with an average of 28 points and 391 offensive yards. Defensively the Boilermakers were very weak allowing 29 points per game and 376 total yards.
This marks the debut of Brian Kelly as the new Notre Dame coach. Kelly in his final season with Cincinnati finished the regular season with a 12-0 perfect record.
He will inherit a club that finished 6-6 overall last season and declined a bowl invitation. The club returns 6 players on offense and 8 on the defensive end.
With Jimmy Clausen off to the NFL the fighting Irish will line up sophomore Dayne Crist under center. Crist in limited action in 2009 completed 10 of 20 passes for 130 yards a touchdown and a pick.
Notre Dame’s top two running backs are back. Senior Armando Allen led the Irish with 733 yards and 3 touchdowns on 142 carries. Senior Robert Hughes contributed with 430 yards and 5 touchdowns on 88 carries.
The team loses its top 2009 receiver as Golden Tate was drafted in the NFL. Junior wide receiver Michael Floyd returns and he was the #2 receiver with 44 catches and an impressive 18.1 yards per carry average and 9 touchdowns.
The Irish put up impressive offensive numbers in 2009 with 30 points and 473 yards per game with 345 coming by way of the pass. Notre Dame lacks a physically tough defense and was pushed around last season for 26 points and 398 yards per game. Notre Dame gave up an average of 170 rushing yards per game. Defense is an area Brian Kelly can make an impact on.
