The Huskies welcome back 8 starters to their offense and 8 starters to their defense. The team finished 2009 with an 8-5 record and won their bowl game with the 20-7 victory against the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Senior Zach Frazier returns under center for the Huskies in 2010. Frazier completed just 116 of 218 passes for 1461 yards 10 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. Backup Cody Endres returns and the junior saw action for an injured Frazier and completed 63.5% of his passes for 1354 yards 6 touchdowns and 4 picks.
The team lost running back Andre Dixon but retains leading rusher junior Jordan Todman who contributed with 1237 yards on 235 carries with 14 touchdowns.
Connecticut loses two of their top three pass catchers from 2009. Kashif Moore returns and was second on the team a year ago with 22 catches for a 16.8 yards per catch average and 3 touchdowns. Junior Isiah Moore returns off a year with 24 catches for an 11.9 yards per catch average and 1 touchdown.
The club averaged 31 points and 387 offensive yards a year ago. On defense they allowed 24 points and a high 369 yards per game. The team finished strong in 2009 with 4 straight wins.
Michigan will returns 7 starters on offense and 8 on defense on a team that finished 5-7 and missed a bowl game for the second straight season. The pressure is on third year head coach Rich Rodriguez who holds a dreadful 8-16 record with the team.
Sophomore quarterback Tate Forcier returns to the team in 2010. As a freshman Forcier completed just 58.7% of his passes for 2050 yards 13 touchdowns and 10 picks. In the spread offense Forcier is a run threat who produced 454 rushing yards on 118 carries and three touchdowns a season ago.
But the Wolverines lost their top two running backs from 2009 who combined for over 1000 yards and 12 touchdowns. The team may go with a freshman at starting running back in Fitzgerald Toussaint.
Four of the five top Michigan pass catchers return in 2010. Wide receiver Roy Roundtree led the team with 32 catches for 434 yards and 3 touchdowns in 2009.
Michigan put up points in 2009 with an average of 30 points and 384 offensive yards per game. The Wolverines were dreadful on defense allowing 28 points and 393 yards per game. It was a shocker to hear that defensive coordinator Greg Robinson returns for another year.
