The club finished 2009 with a poor 3-9 record and missed a bowl game after a successful 2008 campaign that not only saw a bowl but a victory in their bowl game.

Colorado St will start freshman quarterback Pete Thomas. None of the Rams quarterbacks who attempted a pass in 2009 will return this season.
Good news for the Rams is that their two top rushers from last season return to help break in a freshman quarterback. Junior Raymond Carter and senior John Mosure return after combining for 280 carries with 9 touchdowns and 5 yards per carry.
They will miss their top two pass catchers this season. They line up junior T.J. Borcky and senior Tyson Liggett out wide. Liggett had 17 catches for just under 15 yards a catch and 3 touchdowns.
The Rams averaged only 22 points and 351 offensive yards last season. The club on the defensive side gave 30 points and 388 yards per game.
