The Washington Redskins will pay a visit to the New York Jets in an NFL preseason game on Friday night.

Kick off time from New York is set for 7PM Eastern Time with live television only to the Washington and New York markets. National tape delayed coverage will be provided by the NFL Network on Saturday afternoon at 2PM Eastern Time.

The LVSC NFL odds makers have set the opening point spread in this contest and the home team New York Jets opened up as 4 point favorites with the over under lined at 36 ½.

The early money in this game from the bettors has come on the side of the home team as the New York Jets are currently 4 ½ point favorites. The total has been bet downward to 34 ½.

The Washington Redskins are 1-1 in the preseason. The club has moved the ball very well through the air averaging over 288 yards passing per game and 22 ½ points. The Redskins have not been good on the defensive side of the ball allowing 144 ½ yards rushing and 200 through the air. The Jets are 1-1 in the preseason and have not been impressive on the offensive end. The club has averaged just 12 ½ points in two games and has averaged 89 ½ yards on the ground and 147 ½ through the air. Rex Ryan the Jets head coach was disappointed with the Jets offensive showing last week as the club produced just 9 points.

The Jets defense has allowed opponents to average just over 17 points per game. They have defended the run very well allowing just 72 ½ yards per game.

Week three in the NFL preseason is usually the dress rehearsal so expect the starters to play well into the third quarter.

Mark Sanchez the second year starting quarterback is 18 of 27 in the preseason for 131 yards a touchdown and a pick. Sanchez only passed for 9 yards last week. Forty year old Mark Brunell is the backup has completed just 4 of 10 passes for 16 yards in the preseason. Kellen Clemens in two preseason games has completed 11 of 16 passes for 116 yards no touchdowns and picks. Kevin O’Connell is competing for a job with the Jets and has hit on only 8 of 16 passes for 70 yards with 0 touchdowns and 2 picks.
