The San Diego Chargers will travel to face the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints in a week 3 NFL preseason football game on Friday night.
This game will kick off from the Superdome in New Orleans Louisiana at 8PM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by CBS TV.

The Saints are also 1-1 in the preseason. The team has moved the ball very well offensively averaging 352 yards per game and a very high 31 points for preseason play. Defensively the Saints have allowed opponents to rush for only 86 ½ yards per game and pass for 223 ½ yards.
Drew Brees has completed on 14 of 23 passes in his two preseason starts with 91 yards no touchdowns and no picks. With Mark Brunell now a New York Jet its 8th year veteran Patrick Ramsey out of Tulane the clubs backup. In one preseason game Ramsey has hit on 7 of 11 passes for 111 yards no touchdowns and picks. Ramsey has 24 career starts in the league.
There is a fight for the third string quarterback position between rookie Sean Canfield from Oregon St and second year quarterback Chase Daniel from Missouri. Daniel has completed 21 of 30 passes for 232 yards three touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Chase is very short at 6’ as Canfield has a 4” advantage over him. Canfield has not thrown a pass in preseason play but was the PAC 10’s most efficient quarterback last year and this conference is loaded with quarterbacks in the NFL.
