The Eagles began their preseason play with a 28-27 victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week.

Starting quarterback Kevin Kolb in limited action went 6 of 11 for 95 yards no touchdowns and an interception. Michael Vick entered the game as the backup to Kolb. It has been reported that Vick is disappointed as a backup in this league and feels he is capable of leading a team. Vick completed 11 of 17 passes for 119 yards and an interception. Rookie Mike Kafka from Northwestern saw action in the fourth quarter last week and went 3 of 7 for 76 yards and no touchdowns and picks.

Michael Vick is always a threat to run as he rushed for 50 yards on 6 carries with a touchdown. 1st year pro Martell Mallett had a nice preseason debut running the football with 60 yards on 15 carries with a touchdown. Former Pittsburgh Panthers running back LeSean McCoy saw 8 carries for 30 yards.

DeSean Jackson had a nice game against the Jaguars in limited action with 2 catches for 47 yards. Jeremy Maclin contributed with 2 catches for 32 yards.

Cincinnati will be playing their third preseason game of 2010. After a poor performance in the Hall of Fame Game nearly two weeks ago in their 16-7 loss to the Dallas Cowboys the Bengals recovered with a 33-24 victory against the Denver Broncos.

The starters did not perform well as the club was down 14-0 in the first quarter. Carson Palmer went 12 of 15 for 105 yards 0 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. J.T. O’Sullivan completed just 7 of 18 for 118 yards. Jordan Palmer completed only 1 pass in 3 attempts for 5 yards and was unimpressive once again.

Starting running back Cedric Benson saw work last week and amassed just 30 yards on 9 carries. Backup Bernard Scott contributed with 65 yards on 8 carries.

Terrell Owens in his second preseason game had 4 catches for only 23 yards. Rookie Jordan Shipley out of Texas caught 5 balls for 50 yards.

The Bengals were able to dodge a blow to their season as linebacker Rey Maualuga was not assessed any game suspensions over his drunk driving charge during the off season.
