The Men’s finals have been set and it will be Tomas Berdych facing Rafael Nadel in the Wimbledon Tennis Championship match on Sunday July 4th 2010.

The 24-year-old Spaniard Nadal is looking for his second Wimbledon title with a win in 2008. He has 7 major tennis titles under his belt. He is the current #1 player in the world of tennis.

His last major came in the 2010 French Open where he defeated Robin Soderling in 4 sets.

Nadal enters the final after defeating Andy Murray in straight sets 6-4, 7-6 and 6-4. It has not been easy for the lefty, as Phillip Petzschner took Nadal to 5 sets in the second round and by Robin Haase in the third round. He is 8-1 on grass this season.

Tomas Berdych is the 12th seed in Wimbledon and the 24-year from the Czech Republic is after his first major of his career. He has 5 career titles during his 8 year pro career.

His best ever finish in a major came in the 2010 French Open where Robin Soderling eliminated him in the semifinal round in 5 sets. Berdych was up 3 sets to 2 and lost the final two sets.

Berdych punched his ticket into the 2010 Wimbledon final with a three set victory 6-3, 7-6 and 6-3 over Novak Djokovic. The Czech was driven to 5 sets just once in this tournament and it came in a third round victory to Denis Istomin.

His major upset in Wimbledon 2010 came in his four set victory over the top seeded Roger Federer in the quarterfinal round.

Berdych is looking for his first title this season with his best finish in 2010 coming in a finals loss to Andy Roddick in straight sets in the Sony Ericsson Open on April 4th.

They last met in the quarterfinals of the BNP Paribas Open in March of 2010 on a hard court surface and it was Nadal winning 6-4 and 7-6 in straight sets.

They met in Davis Cup on December 4th of 2009 and it was Nadal posting the 7-5, 6-0 and 6-2 victory.

In August of 2009 it was Nadal posting another straight set victory 6-4 and 7-5 against Berdych in the Western & Southern Financial Group Masters Tournament quarterfinals on August 22nd of 2009.
