Algeria and USA will meet in their final game of Group C in World Cup 2010 action on Wednesday morning.

They start this huge contest from Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria South Africa at 10AM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by ESPN TV.

The three way betting line came with USA -125 to win, the draw the second favorite at +250 and for an Algeria win +285. The total opened at 2 ½ goals with under favored at -140 and over the underdog at +120.

The money came in early on the side of the draw as a USA win returns -120, the draw is now at +235 and for an upset victory by Algeria the odds are now +310. The World Cup 2010 bettors came in early on the side of under 2 ½ goals as it now returns -145 and over is now +125.

As they enter the final Group C game in World Cup 2010 the United States has only 2 draws thus far and hold second place with 2 points and a 0 goal differential.

Algeria still has hopes to make the knockout stages as the club owns a loss and a draw with 1 point and a goal differential of only -1.

US holds the second tie breaker with England as the club has scored 2 more goals then the European nation.

Following the United States 1-1 draw with England to open up play in Group C the club fell behind 2-0 in the first half to Slovenia but rallied back to earn the 2-2 tie. A late US goal was erroneously disallowed giving the club 2 points and second place entering the final game of group stages.

In the 2-2 tie with Slovenia the US once again allowed early entry into their net. In minute 13 it was Valter Birsa with the goal and in minute 42 it was Zlatan Ljubijankic making it 2-0 at the half. The US responded with a Brandon Donovan goal in minute 48 and then Michael Bradley got the US equalizer in minute 82 to salvage the tie. Shortly thereafter the US put another behind the Slovenian goal but a major error by the games referee from Mali disallowed the goal.

US controlled possession 51% of the time and had 6 accurate shots on goal to Slovenia’s 4.

Algeria began play in World Cup 2010 with a 1-0 loss to Slovenia and followed that performance up with a 0-0 result with England. Thus far the team has yet to score a goal.

Algeria controlled the football 53% of the time and had just 1 accurate shot on the English net while England had 6.

With a US victory against Algeria they will qualify for the knockout stages with 5 points. Should the US draw they would qualify with an England loss.

The US and England both have goal differentials of 0 but the US has scored 2 more goals in World Cup 2010 then England.

Should the US and England both draw England would need to score 3 more goals than the US to qualify for the knockout stages but with 2 more English goals the teams would draw lots for the right of passage into the round of 16. A loss by the USA to Algeria eliminates the team from World Cup 2010.

The scenario for Algeria is the following for the knockout stages.

A draw or loss to USA eliminates Algeria from the knockout stages. A win by Algeria coupled by a loss or draw by England against Slovenia qualifies the African nation into the round of 16. Should Algeria win and England win the club would be tied with Slovenia with 4 points. Slovenia has a goal differential of +1 and Algeria -1. Slovenia has scored 3 goals thus far in the tournament and Algeria 0.
