The Metropolitan Mile will be contested at Belmont Park this Memorial Day. A field of 8 three year olds and upward are scheduled to run in this Grade 1 race at the distance of 1 mile on the Belmont Park main dirt surface.
The Metropolitan Mile is scheduled for 5:49PM Eastern Time and you can watch it on TVG. It is scheduled as the 10th race on the Belmont Park Card.

Jorge Velazquez will be aboard Quality Road and he is trained by Kentucky Derby winning trainer Todd Pletcher. Off Quality Road’s performance in the Donn Handicap on Febuary 6th many are eyeing this horse as a possible threat to Zenyatta later in the year in the Breeders Cup Classic.
Quality Road posted an impressive 121 Beyer in his win at the Grade 1 Donn at Gulfstream Park at 1 1/8th of a mile. This four year old has posted triple digit Beyer figures in 6 straight. Quality Road is a perfect 2-0 at today’s distance of 1 mile. He loves a dirt fast surface as he has posted 6 wins and a second in 7 lifetime starts.

Musket Man will have Ramon Dominguez aboard and is trained by Derek Ryan. He is running at distance for the first time since running third in last years Preakness Stakes. I expect this four year old to get a piece of the Superfecta as he has posted 11 in the money finishes in 11 starts.
