The scene moves back to LA when the Phoenix Suns and LA Lakers continue their Western conference playoff series with game 5 on Thursday night.

Tip off time is scheduled for 9PM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by TNT TV.

The LVSC NBA odds makers have set the betting line for game 5 and it was the home team LA Lakers opening up as a 7 point favorite with the over under coming in at 219.

The early money from the NBA betting public has been LA Lakers money as the home team is now a 7 ½ point favorite. The total has been bet downward to a current over under of 217 ½.

NBA money line gamblers can lay -380 odds with the LA Lakers with the Phoenix Suns bringing back +320 to pull out the upset victory in game 5 without the need for points on their side.

The Suns evened the series at 2-2 after their 115-106 home victory against the LA Lakers in game 4 as a 2 point home underdog.

The Lakers out shot the Suns 49.5% to 48.8% but the game was won by Phoenix on the glass as they out rebounded Los Angeles by a 63-42 margin. The Suns picked up 18 rebounds off the offensive glass.

It was a total team effort in game 4 by the Suns as 6 players were in double digits. Three starters and three reserves off the bench accomplished that feat.

Amare Stoudemire led the team with 21 points on 7 of 14 shooting from the field and 8 rebounds.

The story on Tuesday was the play of the Suns bench. The unit had played well all season and up until the Lakers series. The Suns reserves had struggled in this series but game 4 was a coming out party for this group against the Lakers.

The Suns bench contributed with 54 of the teams 115 points in game 4. Channing Frye came into game 4 hitting on just 1 of 20 from the floor and a miniscule 1.3 points per game average. On Tuesday he made 4 of 8 shots for 14 big points for Phoenix.
The reserves for Phoenix were hot from the three point line as the back up 5 hit on 9 of 20 from beyond the arc.

The Suns were very fortunate to survive poor free throw shooting as the squad missed 10 of 32 from the charity stripe.

The talk from the Lakers after game 4 was the play of their defense. They felt they were too concerned about handling the Suns zone and lost their focus on stopping their opponent from scoring. Phoenix has shot no worse than 46.3% in the four games of this Western conference playoff series.

Kobe Bryant had a tremendous offensive game with 38 points on 15 of 22 shooting from the field and 10 assists in 45 minutes.

Pau Gasol contributed with 15 points in game 4 but only 5 rebounds.

The Lakers got poor production from their two guards off the bench as Jordan Farmar and Shannon Brown combined for 2 of 12 from the field and 1 of 8 from the three point line.

Trend: The Over is 4-0 in their 4 playoff meetings
