After losing badly in the two games played in Oklahoma City it was the LA Lakers with the 111-87 blowout victory against the Oklahoma City Thunder as 6 point favorites in game 5. The Lakers will be playing this game with extra rest. We saw Phoenix benefit with two days rest in between playoff games and the Lakers are in this spot for game 6 with two days of rest. The Lakers shot well hitting on 53.8% of their shots and defended the Thunder well allowing just 36.9%. The Lakers big men dominated the game 5 rout as Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum contributed with a combined 18 of 26 shooting for 46 points. Kobe Bryant only needed 9 shots in this game and he made 4 of them for 13 points. Bryant was effective on defense stopping the young Thunder dribble down court, as Derrick Fisher is ineffective on the defensive end. In the blowout win no Laker played more than 31 minutes.

Oklahoma City continued their shooting woes in Staples Center with just 36.9% from the floor. Kevin Durant was held to just 5 of 14 with 17 points. The second year pro has shot only 38% from the field in this series, which is well below his 47.6% season average. With Kobe Bryant stopping the dribble it was Russell Westbrook producing 4 of 13 shooting for 15 points in game 5. The Thunder will need to score in the half court set because the Lakers are determined to finally stop the dribble in this series.

Trend: Oklahoma City Thunder is 2-0 ATS in their 2 playoff home games versus LA Lakers
