The Kentucky Oaks will be run at 1 1/8th of a mile on the Churchill Downs main dirt surface. We will select two horses with our win selection.
Play #5 Blind Luck and #1 It’s Tea Time to win.
Blind Luck enters the Oaks off an impressive win in the Grade 2 Fantasy Stakes at Oaklawn Park. She produced an outstanding 104 dirt Beyer in victory on April 2nd. Blind Luck has 6 wins in 9 lifetime starts. Three of her wins came in Grade 1 races.
It’s Tea Time can benefit from a fast early pace in this race. She will have the ground saving trip on the rail as I expect her to not get involved in the speed duel up front in this race. She could be peaking here coming off a good second in the Grade 1 Ashland Stakes on April 3rd where she produced her 90 Beyer, which is pretty good for the synthetics.
Play #5 with #1 with #8 Tidal Pool in an Exacta Box.
Tidal pool enters the race of consecutive triple digit Beyer performances. Last time out she was second to Blind Luck in the Grade 2 Fantasy Stakes at Oaklawn Park where she produced a 100 Beyer. Prior to that it was a first place finish in an Allowance race over Oaklawn where she produced a career best 103 dirt Beyer.
Play #5 with #1 with #8 with #7 Crisp in a Trifecta Box.
Crisp is coming off a win at the Santa Anita Oaks back on March 6th. She has no races in April and her lifetime best Beyer was an 82 she produced in victory at Santa Anita during the Oaks. She will be racing for the first time on dirt on Friday. John Sadler trains her and the barn is red hot this year and has had success at first asking on the dirt.
Play #5 with #1 with #8 with #7 with #6 Beautician in a Superfecta Box
Beautician returns back to the dirt where she has produced a quality race last time out with an 89 Beyer at the Grade 3 Honeybee Stakes at Oaklawn Park in March. She has been no worse than second in her four tries on dirt during her racing career. Throw out here duds on the synthetics.
