The Phoenix Suns will look to take command in their NBA Western conference playoff series with Portland Trailblazers on Saturday afternoon. Start time from Portland is set for 4:35PM Eastern Time and you can watch it on TNT.
The LVSC NBA odds makers have set the opening point spread in game 4 and it was opened as a pick with the over under lined at 203.
The money has come in early on the side of the road team, as the Phoenix Suns are currently a 2-point favorite. The total has been bet downward to a current over under of 201 ½.
Bettors can play the favored Phoenix Suns on the money line at –120 with the home underdog Portland Trailblazers returning +110 to pull out the game 4 upset victory without the benefit of getting points on their side.
Phoenix took a 2-1 series lead off their 108-89 dismantling of the Portland Trailblazers at the Rose Garden as a 1 ½ point underdog. It was the second straight double-digit victory by Phoenix in this series after they pounded the Blazers 119-90 in game 2 as 8 ½ point home favorites. Phoenix shot 52.9% from the field in their game 3 victory and an impressive 13 of 28 from three. Portland was held to just 44.2% shooting from the field and trailed the Suns 66-37 at the half.
Jason Richardson led the Suns in scoring with 42 points on 13 of 19 shooting from the field and 8 of 12 from beyond the arc. Richardson found good looks and you really cant bash the Portland strategy because when the Suns went bad early in the season it was due in part to Richardson launching outside shots and leading the team in field goal attempts. But in game 3 the veteran guard made his shots. Amare Stoudemire contributed with 20 points on 8 of 14 shooting. At concern for Stoudemire was his free throw shooting as the big man missed 5 of 9 attempts from the charity stripe.
The Trailblazers are challenged for offense with leading scorer Brandon Roy out of this series due to injury. LaMarcus Aldridge was held to just 17 points on 5 of 14 from the field. If Aldridge has a bad shooting night the Trailblazers have very little hope of winning any game in this series. Andre Miller after a monster game in game 1 resorted back to normal the past two games and contributed only 11 points on 4 of 11 shooting. With the bench contributing with 40 points in game 3 there is no doubt the Trailblazers must get better point production from their starting 5.
Trend: Phoenix Suns are 5-1 ATS in their past 6 games
