The Gaels began play in the WCC tournament with a 69-55 victory against the Portland Pilots as a 4-½ point favorite. The Gaels shot 55.6% in victory. In the finals of the WCC tournament it was St Marys with the 81-62 victory over the Gonzaga Bulldogs as a 4-½ point underdog. It was another great shooting game for the Gaels as they hit on 50.9% of their shots.
