It will be the second meeting this season between these schools. Back on January 2nd it was the Cincinnati Bearcats coming away with the 65-58 road victory over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights as 4 ½ point road favorites. Rutgers had a rough shooting night hitting on only 37% of theirs shots on their home court in defeat.

Cincinnati Bearcats may be looking at an at large bid into one of the three consolation tournaments as they sit with a 16-14 overall record and 7-11 versus Big East conference opponents. The team has not been good at all in the role of the favorite covering just 2 of 10 point spreads when laying points. The team has struggled down the stretch losing 5 of their past 6 games and three straight. They are coming off a very bad 74-47 road loss to Georgetown to conclude regular season play on Saturday. The team only hit on 38.8% of their shots in defeat. The Bearcats have struggled with shooting all season and have been no better than 39.4% over their past three games. Freshman guard Lance Stephenson led the Bobcats with 23 points on 11 of 17 shooting against the Hoyas.

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights must finish at .500 or better for a shot for an at large bid into the consolation tournaments as they sit with a 15-16 straight up record and 5-13 in Big East conference play. The team has dropped 4 of their past 5 games to conclude the regular season. The Scarlet Knights are coming off an 83-54 loss at Pittsburgh on Saturday. Rutgers could only convert 40.9% of their shots to the Panthers 48.3%. Rutgers has high profile victories this season over Georgetown and Notre Dame. Leading scorer Mike Rosario has struggled hitting on only 8 of 28 in his past two games.
