This will be the second of two regular season meetings between these clubs. It was the LA Lakers with the 98-92 home victory over the Orlando Magic as a 6-point favorite back on January 18th. LA had a solid game on the boards winning the rebounding battle by a 57-52 margin. Orlando turned it over 12 times to the Lakers 5.

The Lakers have lost 2 straight games as they face the Magic. The results were huge as the Lakers right after the loss fell behind by 4 games in the loss column for best record in the NBA over Cleveland with just 19 games remaining. Cleveland owns the tiebreaker over the Lakers so the Cavs own a three game lead following Cleveland’s loss to Milwaukee in Saturday’s action. The Lakers followed up their 114-111 overtime loss on Thursday night to the Heat with a 98-83 loss the following night at the Charlotte Bobcats. LA shot poorly in defeat hitting on just 36.2% of their shots while allowing the Bobcats 51.4%. Kobe Bryant is coming off a 26-point performance against the Bobcats. Kobe has struggled mightily from behind the arc as Bryant has hit on just 2 of 18 from the three-point line over his past 5 games.

The Orlando Magic sits in the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a 43-20 record and 2 games ahead of the Atlanta Hawks who sits in the third seed with only 19 games remaining. The Magic is winners of 4 straight games. This will be the third straight home game for Orlando. The team is coming off a 97-87 home victory over the hapless New Jersey Nets on Friday night. Orlando won the rebounding advantage by 12 boards and limited the Nets to just 40 % shooting from the field. Dwight Howard only contributed with 11 points as Nets big man Brooke Lopez covered him. Howard was able to contribute with 16 boards in victory.

Trend: LA Lakers are 1-8 ATS in their past 9 games
