The San Antonio Spurs will travel to the Pacific Northwest to do battle with the Portland Trailblazers in an NBA pro basketball game on Thursday night. Tip off time in Portland is scheduled for 10:35PM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by TNT.
The LVSC NBA odds makers have set the opening point spread in this contest and the San Antonio Spurs opened as a 2 point favorite with the over under coming in at 194.
The early money from the NBA betting public has come in on the home underdog, as the San Antonio Spurs are currently a 1-½ point favorite. The total has seen no movement in the early wagering as the total is still currently lined at 194 for the betting public to wager into.
NBA money line gamblers can make a play on the favored San Antonio Spurs at –125 with the underdog Portland Trailblazers bringing back +105 to win this game without taking the points on their side.
This will be the third meeting between these Western Conference teams on Thursday night. Portland has won both meetings taking a 98-94 victory as a 13-point underdog on December 23rd at San Antonio and a 96-84 home win on November 6th as a 4 point favorite. The Spurs were not very good at the three-point line combining on just 10 of 42 from beyond the arc. San Antonio has only eclipsed 100 points or more on the road at Portland in 1 of their past 9 meetings.
San Antonio continues their 8 game rodeo road trip with a stop in Portland. They began their road trip with a 115-113 victory at Sacramento Wednesday night. The Spurs were hot from the field hitting on over 52% from the field in victory. But once again the Spurs defense was not good as the club allowed the young Kings to shoot for over 52%. Opposing teams have shot for 50% or more against San Antonio in 5 of their past 6 games. These numbers are unheard of for a Gregg Popovich coached team. Tim Duncan had a good game on Wednesday hitting on 8 of 14 for 22 points and 13 rebounds in victory. There are concerns that Duncan may be rested in this game, as coach Popovich is hesitant to play his veteran in the back end of back-to-back games. Tony Parker has missed his past three games with a bad ankle and could be back in the lineup tonight.
Portland is also on the back end of a back to back as they host the Spurs tonight. The team has struggled as they are losers of 4 of their past 6 games. They are coming off a 118-105 loss on the road last night against the Utah Jazz. Portland had no answer for the Jazz as Utah torched Portland for over 62% shooting from the field in their 118-105 victory. Brandon Roy has been bothered by a bad hamstring and has missed his past 6 games. Roy has been listed as doubtful for tonight’s game.
Trend: Portland Trailblazers are 4-0 ATS in their past 4 meetings in Portland

I find it very disconcerting that the commentators are spending 90 percent of their time chatting up the Spurs. They are playing the Blazers, an autstanding team, in the TrailBlazers court. We’d like to hear more about the Blazers and way less about the Spurs. Thank you
