These Eastern Conference foes are making their third meeting on the season. The Celtics have won both meetings thus far 92-85 on November 29th and 112-106 back on January 6th all in Miami. The Celtics covered the spread in both games. The Celtics shot the ball very well hitting on 52% or better in those contests with the Miami Heat hitting no more than 41% in those two games. In the Celtics win against the Heat in January the club won by 6 despite turning the ball over 24 times to the Heats 11 turnovers.

The Boston Celtics have been a struggling bunch since the day after Christmas. The team is just 7-11 straight up since December 26th. The Celtics recently broke a 3 game losing streak with a 99-88 road win at hapless Washington as a 5 ½ point favorite. The Celtics shot the ball very well in victory hitting on over 54% of their shots and did a good job on the defensive end allowing 38% shooting to the Wizards. Veteran Kevin Garnett bounced back after a poor game against the Lakers on Sunday with 19 points on 8 of 9 from the field in their victory over the Wizards. Ray Allen broke from an 8 of 23 shooting slump with 17 points on 6 of 13 from the field.

The Miami Heat has had an inconsistent season as they sit with a 24-24 record. They are 11-12 on the highway. They Heat too have struggled as they are losers of 4 of their past 5 games and two straight. They lost a home and away series against the Milwaukee Bucks hitting no better than 37% in any one game. Milwaukee embarrassed the Heat at Miami on Monday shooting 50% from the field in their 97-81 victory. In their two losses to the Bucks Dwayne Wade converted on just 13 of 39 from the field and just 1 of 11 from three. The Heat is reporting that Wade is still bothered by back spasms.

Trend: Miami Heat is 8-2 to the under in their past 10 games.
