The Hokies have notable victories over Nebraska, Miami Florida and Boston College. Frank Beamer is in his 23rd year coaching the Hokies. The team defeated the Cincinnati Bearcats 20-7 in the Orange Bowl last year. The team failed to win the ACC conference this season due to a 28-23 road loss at ACC champions Georgia Tech.
