The Seahawks returned home from Houston a bit embarrassed after getting pounded 34-7. Seattle’s bad secondary was pounded again allowing 366 passing yards to Matt Schaub and the Texans offense. The week prior the Seahawks allowed Alex Smith of the San Francisco 49ers to pass for 303 yards. The Seahawks allow 252 yards passing per game ranking 29th in the league. Veteran quarterback Matt Hasselbeck hit on 24 of 35 last week for 247 yards a touchdown and an interception last week. The Seahawks have pounded bad teams at home with a 28 point home win to the Rams, 12 point win against Detroit and a 41-0 home victory over a bad secondary from Jacksonville. So the Seahawks have bullied bad defenses at home this season. The Seahawks are getting poor production once again in their running game as Julius Jones only averages 3.6 yards a carry. Some thought that is was time to feature Justin Forsett in the run game and the inconsistent back has only produced 35 yards in his past 14 carries. Seattle has been a bit better at home on defense allowing just 14.8 points per game at home. Tampa Bay is struggling at 1-12 on the season and in line for the #1 draft pick in the 2010 NFL draft. But the head coach and players are not guaranteed to be around in 2010. We have felt since we wrote our NFL previews way back in July that Tampa Bay would be the worst team in the league and it looks about right. Rookie quarterback Josh Freeman is hitting on just 52% of his passes with 7 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Now that opponents have film on this rookie he has struggled mightily with no touchdowns and 8 interceptions over his past 2 games. Freeman has passed the ball 77 times over that stretch and look for a lot more running in this game from the Buccaneers. On the ground Cadillac Williams is averaging just 3.8 yards a carry and Derrick Ward just 3.5. Tampa Bay allows 27.4 points per game on the season and cannot stop the run. They are 31st in the league against the run allowing 161 yards a game and a very high 4.7 yards per rush attempt.
