The Oakland Raiders will make the trip to the Mile High when they face AFC west division rival the Denver Broncos in an NFL football game on Sunday afternoon. Kick off time in Denver is scheduled for 4PM Eastern Time with regional television coverage provided by CBS. The LVSC NFL odds makers have set the opening point spread in this contest and the Denver Broncos were opened as an 11 ½ point favorite with the over under coming in at 37 ½. The early money from the NFL betting public has come in on the home favorite, as the Denver Broncos are currently lined at 13 for the NFL betting public to play into. The total has seen early movement towards the under, as the over under is currently lined at 37. NFL money line gamblers can make a play on the favored Denver Broncos at –1100 with the road underdog Oakland Raiders bringing back +750 to win with no need of getting the points on their side.
In their first meeting it was the Denver Broncos routing the Raiders in Oakland 23-3 as a 2-½ point road favorite. The Broncos ran wild on the Raiders with 215 yards on the ground. The Oakland Raiders sit with a 4-9 record on the season and out of the NFL playoff picture. The team followed up their huge win at Pittsburgh two weeks ago with a bad 34-13 home loss to the Washington Redskins. The Raiders lost starting quarterback Bruce Gradkowski with sprained knee ligaments in both his knees last week. Frye would make sense in this spot because Raider nation would most likely call for Tom Cable to be fired should he decide to go with Russell on Sunday. Russell has hit on only 48% of his passes with 2 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions. Frye is a 5-year pro that completed 62% of his passes with 16 touchdowns and 25 interceptions during his career. Justin Fargas had a rough day rushing the football with just 21 yards on 9 carries. The Raiders have a poor rush defense allowing 154 yards per game ranking 30th in the NFL. The Broncos are sitting with an 8-5 record on the season with a 1 game lead for a wildcard spot in the playoffs. The Broncos are coming off a 28-16 road loss to the Indianapolis Colts despite holding a +2 turnover margin in the game. It was a tough loss for the Broncos since they held Peyton Manning to a game where he completed less than half of is passes. Kyle Orton had a good passing game last week hitting on 29 of 41 for 277 yards two touchdowns and an interception. Orton has hit on 63% of his passes with 16 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. The Broncos sputtered last week in the run game. Rookie Knowshon Moreno could only gain 63 yards with 23 carries. The rookie did produce 90 yards on the ground when these teams met up in week 3. The Broncos only allow 17.7 points per game on defense. Their defense is very tough to run on as they allow just 3.9 yards a game ranking 7th in the league.
