Green Bay enters this game off a 21-14 win at division rival the Chicago Bears. The Packers were able to run well on the Bears defense with 146 yards on the ground. Running back Ryan Grant had a great game with 137 rushing yards on only 20 carries and two touchdowns. Grant rushed for a 62yard touchdown run to start the game. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has hit on 65.5% of his passes this season with 25 touchdowns and only 7 interceptions. Rodgers is getting much better protection on the season. Rodgers did not pass much last week as the Packers were running the football against a bad Bears rushing defense. The Packers have been playing outstanding defense limiting teams to just 18.7 points per game and only 272 yards a game. The Packers secondary is outstanding as the team is number three in the NFL against the pass allowing just 187 yards a game. Green Bay sits at 9-4 on the season and sits with a two game lead for a playoff spot with 3 games remaining. They can clinch a playoff spot with win and a Giants loss on Monday night. The Pittsburgh Steelers are going very bad right now sitting at 6-7 on the season. The team has dropped 5 straight and in that span has losses against some of the worst teams in the league in Cleveland, Oakland and Kansas City. The Steelers once stout defense is beginning to crack. Teams have rushed for 100 yards or more on the Steelers in three straight games. They allowed an inept Browns run game to rush for 171 yards last week. Two weeks back an inept Raiders passing game produced 287 yards on their secondary. Teams are doing whatever they want on the Steelers defense. Safety Troy Polamalu has missed the teams past 4 games with a knee injury. Polamalu has missed 8 of the Steelers 13 games this season and the teams sits at 6-7 on the season. They are 1 game back of a wildcard spot in the playoffs with 3 games to play. Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has hit on 68% of his passes this season with 19 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Big Ben continues to have issues with his offensive line, as he is not getting good protection. Roethlisberger was sacked 8 times against Cleveland last week. The Steelers need more production from their feature back Rashard Mendenhall. The second year back could only muster 53 yards on 16 carries against a poor Browns defense. Mendenhall has been inconsistent in recent weeks with three games of 3.8 yards a carry or worse in his past 5 games.
