The Tennessee Titans streak of 5 straight wins came to an end last week as the team dropped a 27-17 decision at Indianapolis. The Titans have fallen to 5-7 on the season and have had their hopes dimmed for a playoff spot. Vince Young struggled at times as he was facing a good secondary in Indianapolis. Young was just 24 of 43 for 241 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Young really had problems in the red zone, as when the coverage got tighter he was unable to throw accurately to his receivers. Running back Chris Johnson continues to post impressive numbers as the second year back rushed for 113 yards last week. Johnson currently averages 6.2 yards a carry on the season and could have a huge game against the poor Rams defense. On the defensive side the Titans give up 26.3 points per game and a high 267 yards passing per game. The Tennessee secondary allows opposing quarterbacks to complete 68.1% of their passes ranking 31st in the NFL. The St Louis Rams are in a miserable season sitting at 1-11. The team has played poorly in both phases of the game. The team just averages 11.6 points per game and allows 26.2. Their bright spot on defense has been Steven Jackson who averages 4.6 yards a carry this season. The third year back has rushed for 100 yards or more in 5 of his past 6 games. Veteran quarterback Kyle Boller has saw action as the starting quarterback as Marc Bulger has been sidelined with an injury. Boller has hit on just 57% of his passes with 3 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. The signal caller was only 17 of 32 for 113 yards, no touchdowns and an interception in the Rams 17-9 loss last week at Chicago. The Rams to their credit, despite a lack of talent, have played very hard showing no signs of quitting in their games. A concern for the team is their offensive line as Boller has seen considerable pressure. The Rams defense have struggled stopping the run as opposing teams average 146 yards and a high 4.6 yards per rush attempt. That is a huge problem area for the Rams as they face the 6.2 yards per carry running back in Chris Johnson this week from Tennessee.
