The Chicago Bears return home after losing a pivotal game against the Minnesota Vikings. The loss dropped the Bears to 4-7 and now must win out to have any shot at a wildcard playoff spot. In a game the Bears needed badly the NFC North division leaders the Minnesota Vikings pounded them 36-10. The Vikings just pounded the Bears defense for 159 yards on the ground and 378 yards through the air. The Bears have struggled on offense as they have trouble sustaining drives with just 37% conversions on third downs. Starting quarterback Jay Cutler has been brutal this season. The four-year pro has thrown 20 interceptions on the game. Jay Cutler had only 23 pass attempts last week because they could only covert just 2 of 8 on third down. The Bears have not aided Cutler with their running game as Matt Forte has averaged just 3.3 yards per carry on the season. Defensively the Bears allow 23.7 points per game. The Bears secondary has been torched the past few weeks by Cincinnati, Arizona, Philadelphia and Minnesota’s strong passing attacks. St Louis is 1-10 on the season and coming off a 27-17 home loss to Seattle. The Rams defense allowed just 95 passing yards to Seattle but 170 on the ground. Veteran quarterback Kyle Bollar is now under center in relief of an injured Marc Bulger. He hit on 28 of 46 passing last week with 1 touchdown and 2 picks. The Rams once again were able to move the football but critical turnovers swung the game out of their hands against Seattle. Veteran running back Steven Jackson has rushed for a respectable 4.7 yards a carry average this season. Jackson has been bothered by a back ailment and did not practice on Wednesday. Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo told the media this week that Jackson would be a game time decision. The Rams sport a poor defense and will need to defend the pass against Jay Cutler and the Bears. The Rams allow a high 27 points per game and 225 through the air. Opposing quarterbacks have posted big games on this Rams secondary as St Louis allows signal callers to complete 64.7% of their passes for a high 11.3 yards per completed pass.
