He played interception free football at Cincinnati and home to Pittsburgh in his past two games. West Virginia is 4th in the Big East in total defense allowing 340 yards a game. The Rutgers Scarlet Knights are 8-3 this season. They are coming off 34-14 win at Louisville. This came after a bad loss at Syracuse 31-13 where the team produced just 130 total offensive yards. Freshman quarterback Tom Savage is hitting on 54.5% of his passes with 12 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. Savage has had issues with accuracy with some poor passing performances on the season. On the ground it’s been junior running back Joe Martinek getting the bulk of the carries this season and has a 4.9 yards a carry average. Rutgers ran a freshman Mohamad Sanu18 times last week and he produced 148 rushing yards. Entering the game with Louisville Sanu had just 18 carries on the season. Running on West Virginia is not easy as the team allows just 123 yards a game and only 6 rushing touchdowns. But Rutgers is better defending the run allowing 104 yards per game and 3.1 yards per carry against average ranking 2nd in the Big East conference.
