Oregon St is 8-3 on the season and coming off a 42-10 win at Washington St. The team has dropped three games against their strongest competition losing 28-18 home to Cincinnati, 37-32 home to Arizona and was defeated 42-36 at a down USC Trojans team. Senior quarterback Sean Canfield has been very accurate hitting on 70% of his passes with 19 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. In a tough road spot at California the lefty quarterback completed 74% of his passes for 342 yards two touchdowns and 1 pick. On the ground sophomore running back Jacquizz Rodgers leads the team with a 5.5 yards a carry average on the season. An impressive stat is that Rodgers in two years and with 498 carries has not fumbled the ball in his entire career at Oregon St. The Beavers are ranked 5th in the Pac 10 in total defense allowing an average of 340 yards per game. They have been exceptionally well against the run and currently sit at #1 in the Pac 10 in rushing defense allowing 98 yards a game and just 3.52 yards per rush attempt. Where the team has had its issue is defending the pass as the Beavers sit 6th in the Pac 10 allowing 242 yards through the air and 19 touchdown passes. In their loss at USC the Trojans moved the ball at will against the Beavers with 227 yards on the ground and 202 through the air on October 24th.
