The ten-year veteran is averaging 4.4 yards a carry on the season. Defensively the Jets have been good on the year allowing just 17.7 points per game. The Jets points against average has been greatly skewed by the points allowed by interceptions thrown by Mark Sanchez. Buffalo got a much-needed win last week as they surprised the Miami Dolphins 31-14. The Bills were greatly aided by 4 Dolphins turnovers and held a +3 turnover margin in the game. Back up quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick filled in last week for an injured Trent Edwards and hit on 17 of 26 passes for 246 yards a touchdown and an interception. Fitzpatrick has put back-to-back quality starts, which is a total form reversal from his play last year in relief of an injured Carson Palmer in Cincinnati. In the Bills overtime victory against the Jets he went just 10 of 25 for 116 yards, one touchdown and an interception. Running back Fred Jackson has seen the bulk of the carries with 4.2 yards per carry average on the season. Jackson has been better than average running the football the past 3 games. Veteran wide receiver Terrell Owens has played another good game with Fitzpatrick at quarterback with 5 catches for 96 yards and a touchdown last week. On the defensive side of the ball the Bills are worst in the NFL against the run allowing teams to average a very high 4.8 yards a carry on the season.
