When Buffalo and Miami met for the first time this season it was Miami routing Buffalo 38-10 as a 2 point home favorite. The Dolphins were able to run all over the Bills defense for 250 yards in victory. The Dolphins held a +3 turnover margin in the game as the Bills coughed up the ball three times in defeat. The Dolphins are winners of two straight to knot their record at 5-5 on the season. They are coming off a 24-17 road win at Carolina on Thursday Night Football a week ago Thursday. With Ronnie Brown out for the season it was Ricky Williams who ran for 119 yards on 22 carries for a 5.4 yards a carry average and two touchdowns. The veteran running back is having a good season as he is averaging 5.3 yards a carry. Starting quarterback Chad Henne made his first start against Buffalo in their week 4 meeting so the Bills will see the second year pro for the second time this season. Henne is hitting on 58% of his passes for 10 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. Henne has thrown only 3 touchdown passes over his past 5 games. Defensively Miami gives up 24 points per game and that’s attributed to a very poor secondary. Miami gives up 236 yards per game through the air and a very poor 12.9 yards per completed catch against their defense ranking 32nd and last in the NFL. Buffalo is having a miserable season at 3-7 on the year. They are coming off an 18-15 loss at Jacksonville a week ago. Buffalo has struggled big time for points as they have averaged just 13 points per game over their past 7 games. With starting quarterback Trent Edwards sidelined with the effects of a concussion it has been Ryan Fitzpatrick once again leading a team sidelined by a starting quarterback. And much like last year when he relieved an injured Carson Palmer at Cincinnati, Fitzpatrick has just been a miserable leader for his offense. The much-maligned Fitzpatrick is hitting on just 51% of his passes with 3 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. Fred Jackson has been the leading ball carrier for the Bills with a 4.1 yards a carry average. Buffalo is the 31st worst rush defense in the league allowing 166 yards per game and a 4.9 yards per rush against average.
