These two AFC South rivals met in their first meeting on November 8th with the Indianapolis Colts winning 20-17 as a 7-½ point home favorite. The Texans rallied in the fourth quarter and were in position for a game tying field goal but it was kicker Kris Brown missing a field goal. The Texans kicker was snake bit last week missing a game tying field goal in the closing seconds losing a 20-17 game on Monday Night Football to the Tennessee Titans. Texans quarterback Matt Schaub is hitting on 67% of his passes with 19 touchdowns and only 9 interceptions on the season. Schaub is coming off a two-touchdown pass performance with no picks last week at home against Tennessee. The Texans hare usually enjoyed a good home field advantage over the years but the 2009 Houston Texans are just 2-3 on the season and suffered a 31-24 home loss to Jacksonville in their only home game against a current team over .500. The Texans are having major problems running the football as Steve Slaton is only averaging 3.1 yards a carry this season. Houston is an improved defensive team this season allowing 20.8 points per game and just 333 total yards. Indy is a perfect 10-0 on the year after surviving a very difficult road game at Baltimore and winning 17-15 last week. The Colts run defense was outstanding limiting the Ravens to just 98 yards on 31 carries. The Colts earned the victory despite 3 turnovers in the game. Peyton Manning is having an outstanding year throwing the football hitting on 69.8% of his passes with 21 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. He is coming off a 22 of 31 passing performance last week in victory for 300 yards and a touchdown pass but threw 2 interceptions in the game. Manning has now thrown 4 picks over his past 2 games. Indianapolis has played outstanding defense this season limiting teams to just 15.7 points per game and just 325 yards. The Colts are reporting Peyton Manning’s glute issue as soreness as he has been limited in practice this week.
