The team owns a very notable victory this season winning at Navy 27-24 back on October 31st. But the Owls took a huge blow to their MAC conference championship hopes as lead running back Bernard Pierce is out of this game with a shoulder injury. It was a huge blow to the team as Pierce averages 5.8 yards a carry with 224 carries for 1308 yards. Freshman running back Matt Brown is the backup. Brown had 156 yards rushing on 18 attempts last week home against Kent State. Sophomore quarterback Chester Stewart hits on 44% of his passes with 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. On the defensive side the Owls allow 20 points per game and 321 yards on defense ranking 2nd in the MAC. Ohio Bobcats enter this game with an 8-3 record on the season. The team is just 3-2 on their home turf. They are coming off a 38-31 home victory over Northern Illinois last week despite only 247 yards of offense. Ohio is very good against the run allowing just 3.8 yards a carry against their defense. Senior quarterback Theo Scott is hitting on 57% of his passes with 16 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Scott is coming off a three touchdown passing performance last week in victory hitting on 16 of 28 passes. On the ground Chris Garrett is the leading ball carrier averaging 4.4 yards a game. Garrett will be running against the #1 rush defense in the MAC as Temple allows just 3.0 yards a carry. The Owls only give up an average of 103 yards rushing a game against their defense.
