The Oakland Raiders will hit the highway in a Thanksgiving Day NFL pro football game against the Dallas Cowboys. Kick off time in Dallas on Thursday is scheduled for 4:15PM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by CBS. The LVSC NFL odds makers have set the opening point spread in this game and the Dallas Cowboys opened as a 14 point favorite with the over under coming in at 41 ½. The early money from the NFL betting public has come in on the road underdog, as the Dallas Cowboys are currently a 13-½ point favorite. The over under has seen early action towards the under, as the total is currently lined at 40 ½.
The Dallas Cowboys once again last week struggled to put points on the scoreboard in their 7-6 win against Washington. Two weeks ago it was only 7 points scored on Green Bay. The Cowboys went to the run a lot more last week with 33 rushes for 153 yards with Tony Romo only attempting 27 passes. The Cowboys have been very poor on third downs as they are 6 of 23 in their past 2 games. The Cowboys run duo last week of Marion Barber and Felix Jones rushed for about 5 yards a carry between them on 30 carries last week. Tony Romo was sporting a sore back after attempting a tackle early in the game. Romo told the media that it impacted his throwing in the game. Despite all the problems with the Cowboys offense Tony Romo did get the ball into the end zone with the game on the line. Defensively the Cowboys played well allowing no touchdowns to the Redskins. Dallas opponents have not rushed for 100 yards in 3 of their past 4 games. The Cowboys only allow 4.1 yards per rush attempt. The Oakland Raiders earned their third win of the season last week in beating the Cincinnati Bengals 20-17. Starting quarterback Bruce Gradkowski completed just 17 of 34 passing with 183 yards, two touchdowns and 1 interception in victory. Gradkowski led the Raiders to a game-tying touchdown late in the fourth quarter and the kick off resulted in a Raiders fumble recovery that set up the game winning field goal. Raiders running back Justin Fargas is sharing carries with Michael Bush and Darren McFadden. Fargas is just averaging 3.7 yards a carry and McFadden 3.2 this season. The Raiders defense allows 23 points per game with their problem area being their run defense which allows 157 yards a game this season which ranks 30th in the league. The Raiders have given up big plays in the passing games as Oakland allows 12.3 yards per completion against their defense.
