These teams met last November with the Buffalo Bulls getting the win and cover 37-17 at home to Miami Ohio Redhawks as an 8-point favorite. Buffalo was able to pile on 476 offensive yards on the Redhawks in victory. It’s been a disappointing year for Buffalo after their bowl appearance last year with a 3-7 record this season. The Bulls have had some very close losses dropping their last 3 games by a combined total of just 7 points. It’s been two 3-point losses and a 1-point loss in that span. Sophomore quarterback Zach Maynard is hitting on 58% of his passes this season with 17 touchdowns but 13 interceptions in his first year under center for the Bulls. Maynard has had major problems with his accuracy hitting for about half of his passes over his past three games which all resulted in close losses. Lead junior running back Ike Nduka is averaging 6.2 yards per carry this season but missed last week’s game with an injured ankle Nduka has been listed as questionable for this game on Wednesday. There is a huge drop off in run production with Nduka out of the lineup, as the committee of backups has combined for less than 4 yards a carry. Buffalo is the #6 ranked defense in the MAC allowing just 356 yards per game this season. The Bulls allow just under 26 points per game. Miami Ohio is having a brutal season at 1-10 this season. The team is coming off a 35-14 loss at home to Bowling Green last week where the Redhawks committed 5 turnovers. Freshman starting quarterback Zac Dysert is taking his lumps with no run support as he has passed for 11 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. The freshman signal caller has been sacked 45 times in his 8 starts and 2 relief roles this season. Last week against Bowling Green Dysert hit on 60% of his passes for 259 yards but threw 0 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. The Bowling Green game was a setback as the freshman had been showing vast improvement in the three games leading up to the one with the Falcons. Miami Ohio is 9th in total defense in the MAC allowing 374 yards per game on the year. They give up major points this season allowing 33 points per game to their opponents.
