The Seattle Seahawks will hit the highway in a big NFC West division battle when they face the Arizona Cardinals in an NFL game on Sunday afternoon. Kick off time is scheduled for 4:15PM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by Fox. The LVSC college football odds makers have set the opening point spread in this game and the Arizona Cardinals opened as a 7 ½ point favorite with the over under coming in at 37 ½. The early money from the pro football betting public has come in on the home favorite, as the Arizona Cardinals are currently an 8 points favorite. The total has seen betting action towards the under, as the total is currently lined at 46 ½. In their first meeting this season it was Arizona pounding the Seahawks in dominating fashion 27-3 back on October 18th. The Arizona defense was outstanding limiting the Seahawks to just 14 yards rushing and 114 through the air. Arizona bounced back from a 34-21 home loss to Carolina by pounding the Chicago Bears 41-21 last week. Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner was 22 of 32 for 261 yards and 5 touchdowns with no interceptions. Warner bounced back from a 5-interception performance the week before. The difference last week was that Warner had time to through as the offensive line did a much better job of protecting Kurt Warner in the pocket. The pattern for the Cardinals this season is when Warner has 2 or more picks they lose and less than 2 picks they win. The Cardinals have been outstanding stopping the run allowing just 93 yards per game but teams are able to pass for an average of 247 yards on their secondary. The Cardinals in three home games have allowed their opponents to average 26 ½ points per game. Arizona has a losing record at home this season with a 1-3 record in front of the home folks. Rookie running back Beanie Wells has ran great with a 4.8, 5.9 and 5.5 yards per carry average in three consecutive weeks. Seattle is 3-5 on the season and is playing their most important game of the season. With a loss here the Seahawks will fall 4 games behind the Cardinals in the NFC West counting the tiebreaker with 7 games to play. Seahawks starting quarterback Matt Hasselbeck is playing through a sore shoulder. He is hitting on 61% of his passes this season with 10 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. He is coming off a 39 of 51 passing performance last week against the Lions with a touchdown and interception in victory. Against the Cardinals in their first meeting he was just 10 of 29 for 112 yards no touchdowns and 1 pick in defeat. Running back Julius Jones is averaging just 3.6 yards a carry this season but has been very effective catching passes out of the backfield. In his past two games, the lead back has 8 catches for 110 yards. Defensively the Seahawks have allowed just under 32 points per game in their 3 road games this season. The Seahawks are 0-3 on the road this season. The Seahawks secondary has been torched through the air with 353 yards passing allowed against Indy, 282 against Arizona in meeting 1 and 249 at Dallas.
Tony T’s Opinion: If this game makes my card I would look to an over play in this game. The Seahawks found success throwing the football over 50 times last week and that may be the game plan right back here.
