The Kansas City Chiefs will look for revenge when they travel to the Oakland Raiders in an AFC West division NFL football game on Sunday afternoon. Kick off time is set for 4PM Eastern Time with regional television coverage provided by CBS. The LVSC college football odds makers have set the opening point spread in this game and the Oakland Raiders opened as a 1 point favorite with the over under coming in at 37 ½. The early money from the NFL sports betting public has been Silver and Black money, as the Oakland Raiders are currently a 2-point favorite. The total has seen early action towards the under, as the total is currently lined at 36 ½. NFL money line players can make a play on the favored Oakland Raiders at –130 with the road underdog Kansas City Chiefs bringing back +110 to pull off the win without the points on their side.
The teams met early in the season on September 20th in Kansas City with the Oakland Raider pulling out a 13-10 victory as a 1-point underdog. Kansas City was able to move the football effectively against Oakland with 173 yards on the ground and 236 through the air but it was 2 costly interceptions that blew drives down the field and limited the Chiefs to just 10 points. Oakland’s offense was very poor throughout the game but Raiders troubled quarterback JaMarcus Russell was able to move the team down the field in the closing minute of the game and completed a winning touchdown pass. Russell was just 7 of 24 for 99 yards in victory. Oakland is coming off the bye week following a very competitive 24-16 road division loss at the San Diego Chargers. The Raiders defense made good halftime adjustments to keep the team with a chance to pull out this game. But the offense was poor with just 99 yards rushing on 27 carries and 81yards through the air. Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell is only completing 48% of his passes with 2 touchdowns and 9 interceptions on the season. Running back Justin Fargas has averaged just 3.7 yards a carry in his return to the lineup but Darren McFadden is expected to come back from his knee problem and start in this game. Kansas City is having a miserable season coming in at 1-7 on the year. The team is coming off a 24-21 loss at Jacksonville last week but needed two late scores to make the score look respectable. The Chiefs have released longtime running back Larry Johnson after trashing his coach through social networks. Johnson has been ineffective this season with just 2.7 yards per carry average. Jamaal Charles will see more carries and the 2nd year pro from Texas is averaging 5.2 yards a carry. Starting quarterback Matt Cassell is hitting on 55% of his passes with 10 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. He did pass for 2 touchdowns last week as the team acquired wide receiver Chris Chambers who was released by the Chargers. Chambers had 3 catches last week for 70 yards and 2 touchdown catches. Kansas City is a bad defense allowing 388 yards per game. Kansas City allows big plays against their secondary as opponents average yards on pass completions is 13.6 yards a catch which is last in the league.
