The Vikings are great at getting pressure on the quarterback with 31 sacks this season. Minnesota is 27th in the league allowing opposing quarterbacks to complete 63.77% of their passes along with 238 passing yards. The Vikings have given up an average of 26 points in their 3 home games this season. The Lions are smarting at 1-7 this season. The team blew a 17-0 lead on Seattle last week and lost 32-20. Starting quarterback Matthew Stafford threw 5 interceptions in defeat. Stafford has hit on 53.7% of his passes this season with 5 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. The rookie is still sporting a sore knee that was injured way back in week 4 that forced him to miss two games. The Lions still cant run the ball as their leading ball carrier Kevin Smith has rushed 138 times for a 3.3 yards a carry average. Defensively the Lions are not good allowing 29.6 points per game. It’s even worse in their 4 road games where they have given up an average of 37.8 points a game. Their secondary has gotten torched once again as the team allows an average of 263 passing yards per game ranking 31st in the league. Opposing quarterbacks completes an incredible 71.6% of their passes against the Lions and that’s 32nd and last in the NFL.
Tony T’s Opinion: If this game makes my card on Sunday I would look to play over the total. I would expect a high scoring game with two passing defenses that have given up major yardage on the season.
