The interceptions came earlier in the year and his passing attempts have been cut down dramatically as the team has had great success running the football. Fresno St’s run defense will need to be good against Nevada and Fresno St is 4th in the WAC against the run allowing 169 yards per game and a high 5.5 yards per rush against average. The Nevada Wolf Pack is 6-3 on the year and is bowl eligible. The team has won 6 straight games and coming off a total pounding of San Jose St 62-7 last week on the road. Running backs Vai Tua has 7.5 yards a carry average and Luke Lippincott rushes for 6.9 yards a carry average this season for the Wolf Pack as they have led a solid running attack. Nevada will need as well to be good against the run and the team is #2 against the run allowing 114 yards per game and 3.6 yards per carry against average. Nevada is very bad against the pass allowing 300 yards passing a game and it will be interesting to see if Fresno St will increase their passing with Mathews having such a great season.
