The Central Florida Knights from Conference USA will travel in non-conference play to face the Texas Longhorns in a college football game on Saturday afternoon. Kick off time at Texas is scheduled for 12PM Eastern Time with national television coverage provided by FSN. The Longhorns have steamrolled through much of their non conference opponents this year posting a 39 point home win to Louisiana Monroe, 31 point win at Wyoming and a 55 point destruction of UTEP. The only difference here against the Central Florida Knights is this team from Conference USA is a pretty good defense that only allows 90 rushing yards per game. The Knights are coming off a 21-20 home win last Sunday against Marshall. The team didn’t run much but was able to pass for 342 yards in victory. Central Florida is 5-3 on the season with a 26-19 loss at Southern Mississippi, 19-14 at East Carolina and a 27-7 loss home to Miami. The Central Florida defense allowed only 70 rushing yards to the Hurricane with 293 through the air. The Knights have a senior quarterback under center and Brett Hodges has completed 57% of his passes this season with 10 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. Hodges was only 44% accurate in the 27-7 loss to Miami Florida. The Knights lead running back is sophomore running back Brynn Harvey who has rushed 173 times for only a 3.9 yards per carry average.
