The Cincinnati Bearcats will host in Big East conference play the Connecticut Huskies in a college football game in prime time on Saturday night. Kick off time at Cincinnati is scheduled for 8PM Eastern Time with regional television coverage provided by ABC. Backup sophomore quarterback Zach Collaros filled in nicely in relief with 37 of 45 passing for 7 touchdowns and no interceptions in wins over Louisville and at Syracuse. On the ground the Bearcats are getting solid performances from running backs Isaiah Pead and Jacob Ramsey who both rush for a 6.1 yards per carry average. Defensively the Bearcats are tough allowing opponents just 12.9 points per game. Opponents have a difficult time running on Cincinnati averaging just 3.11 yards per rush on the season. Connecticut is 4-4 on the season and in the midst of a two game losing streak. It was a difficult home loss last week as Rutgers completed on a huge passing play in the closing seconds to pull out a 28-24 win last week. The Huskies will be without sophomore quarterback Cody Endres who is having season ending surgery on his shoulder that was injured last week against Rutgers. So inaccurate quarterback Zach Frazier tries his hand again as the Huskies starter. Frazier is only hitting on 48% of his passes with 3 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. In his 2 years of playing under center for the Huskies Zach Frazier has tossed 5 touchdown passes and 13 interceptions. Connecticut has gotten good production from their twin backs as Andre Dixon on 150 carries this season averages 4.7 yards per rush and Jordan Todman 5.0 yards a rush on 133 carries. A Cincinnati Bearcats team that averages 305 yards through the air will test the Huskies pass defense. Connecticut is 3rd in the Big East in pass defense allowing 201 yards per game and 11 touchdown passes.
