Prior to their bye the Pittsburgh Steelers handed the Minnesota Vikings their first loss of the season. They limited Vikings running back Adrian Peterson to just 69 yards on 18 carries for 3.8 yards per carry average. Favre attempted 50 passes in the game completing 33 of them for 334 yards no touchdowns and 1 interception. Pittsburgh forced key turnovers they greatly aided in their victory with an interception and fumble returned for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. Minnesota was just 1 of 5 in the red zone.
