Michigan’s defense has been the teams Achilles heel giving up an average of 367 yards per game and 5.3 yards per play average against ranking 8th in the Big 10. Illinois is the 11th and last ranked defense in the Big Ten. The Fighting Illini gives up an average of 415 yards per game and 6.2 yards per play against their defense. Illinois is coming off a 24-14 loss at Purdue last week. Illinois has struggled big time for points scoring no more than 17 points in any of their games against division 1 teams this season. Senior quarterback Juice Williams has struggled this season. He has been benched this season but is now the starting quarterback for Illinois. Juice Willaims is hitting on 55% of his passes this season with 4 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. On the ground sophomore running back Mikel LeShoure is coming off a nice performance last week running for 78 yards on 12 carries for a 6.5 yards per rush average. Illinois is 1-6 on the season with their only win coming home to Illinois State. Another loss by the Fighting Illini and the team will become ineligible for a bowl berth.
